Class: Introduction to Global Climate Change
Evidence: Research Paper, Reading Response
Reflection: Introduction to Global Climate Change provided the first real understanding of the complexities and intricacies involved in global warming and green house gas production. We studied and discussed specific processes and cycles and how they related to the overall green house gas effect. This class laid the basic framework to expand and explore environmental studies. By the end of the class we took the knowledge we gained in the previous weeks and applied it to something that sparked out interest in a detailed research paper.

Reading and Critically Evaluating Environmental Literature
Class: Environmental Policy
Evidence: Research Paper, Final Exam
Reflection: Environmental Policy revealed the law and real world application of environmental studies. It was interesting to apply environmental law with a problem solving like approach to everyday environmental problems. It gave the whole idea a tangible aspect not commonly found in other Environmental Policy classes. The class gave you a great understanding of various environmental laws and regulations and how governmental organizations work and interact.

Written Communication
Class: Introduction to I.P.E.
Evidence: Research Paper
Reflection: Introduction to I.P.E. preliminarily provided a great background to economic theory and later in the class used those theories to explore certain scenarios and case studies. The first two papers required us to strictly discuss economists, their theories, and how they overlapped, intertwined, or contrasted. The final research paper allowed us to explore a particular topic and apply the economic theories we learned in class to that topic. This solidified the dryer side of economics in a more lively, everyday situation we were inspired to learn more about.

Oral Communication
Class: Public Policy Making
Evidence: Speech #1, Speech #2
Reflection: Public Policy Making combined a variety of academic disciplines. One of the main components involved giving and constructing speeches. The first speech was derived from reading we were assigned in class, which required us to apply the general subject to a present day topic. The second speech's subject was one of our choosing and allowed us to select from whatever intrigued us. Speeches, at first, seemed a little daunting, but by the second round I felt much more comfortable and relaxed, which was a reassuring feeling.

Quanitative Reasoning Skills
Class: Human Impacts and Biogeochemical Cycles
Evidence: Stella Model Example #1, Stella Model Example #2
Reflection: Human Impacts and Biogeochemical cycles was a unique class in an of itself. It blended basic chemistry and stella modeling and used these to further explain chemical cycles and how the green house gas effect is caused and perpetuated. After exploring stella modeling through various cyclical replications, we were able to select and complete our own models through trial and error. Along with executing this model we had to further explain and analyze what our data expressed, which was quite challenging.
